David Schneider

Friend and Inspirator

David made posts on his Facebook page with the tag “Things I cook” and “Yes, more sh*t I cook!” He took simple snapshots of what he had cooked and posted them on his page with a short caption.

He was also a dedicated urban gardener in New York. He grew flowers and some vegetables. Sometimes, the dishes he posted were made of the produce he had grown in the community garden. I admired him for that.

His influence on me was that he posted food – not elaborately styled, sometimes not even pretty good pictures. The photos not always paid his creative cooking and talents credit.

David died unexpectedly in November 2016. Sadly I never got to tell him how much he inspired me. As my tribute to him, I also started to post my cooking and baking on my Facebook page – the same month he died and collected the photos in an album dedicated to David's memory.

Without his posts, this website would probably not exist.
