Med–Mex by Chris
by Mark Chapman
The table was already beautifully set, and Chris buzzing in the open kitchen, adding the final touches to the food. Denise, Thomas, Joemar and I watched while sipping our Mescalito Cocktail or another drink to kick-off what turned out to be an unforgettable and fun evening. I love Mescal; after the Gin wave, I believe it will be the next big craze in bars.
Chris prepared several dishes with Mediterranean and Mexican flavours. Few were grilled and charred, giving the vegetables, salad, meat and bread that extra roasted flavour. The plates were served in Tavolata style so everyone could help themselves with the delicious food.
What can I say? It was sensational, and every single dish had a distinct flavour from the ingredients, herbs and spices – as Chris wrote on the menu card: Flavour Power Cuisine.
To round the meal, Chris served a creamy, fresh-tasting Key Lime pie – he knows a Key Lime Martini is one of my favourite cocktails.
Needless to say, the food was accompanied by some excellent wines. After a few months of near alcohol abstinence due to the pandemic lockdown, I felt quite boozy going home.
Let the photos Inspire you and tell the full story.
